Vélez paid tribute to the historic Fortín de Villa Luro, but its plaque had errors.
Liniers' team placed a commemorative plaque with grammatical errors where their old stadium was
Vélez held an event in recognition of the emblematic "Fortín de Villa Luro," the club's old stadium, and placed a commemorative plaque that, surprisingly, contained spelling errors.
The plaque, delivered by the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires, featured two mistakes: the repetition of the word "el" and the incorrect spelling of the term "emblemático". These errors were quickly pointed out on social media, where "Fortín" fans expressed strong criticism, leading to an official response from the club.
Regarding this, board member Sabrina Pria explained that the plaque was delivered at the same time as the event and that the club noticed the errors. She also assured that "the local authorities and the legislator committed to replacing it".

As for the ceremony, it included the placement of the aforementioned commemorative plaque at the site where the old stadium was located. "The plaque honors the memory of those who fought and lived in this place", the club highlighted on its official page.
Among the attendees were members of the Board of Directors, the Department of Culture, and the Department of Lifetime Members, as well as the project's promoter, Jorge Santiso. Public figures from Buenos Aires also participated, such as Juan Manuel Oro (Head of the Communal Board), Juan Modarelli (legislator and president of the Culture Commission), Lorena Crespo and Alberto Espiño (Communal Member of Commune 9), Daniela Romero (Communal Member of Commune 10), and Nelly Pareja (President of the Historical Studies Board of the Liniers Neighborhood), along with members and neighbors of the area.
