The intentional homicides recorded a decrease of 28.3% in the province of Córdoba during the first seven months of 2026, according to the latest monthly report from the Security and Coexistence Observatory.

Between January and July of this year, 38 intentional homicides were counted, while during the same period in 2025, 53 had been recorded. This represents 15 fewer incidents in the year-on-year accumulated comparison.

The behavior of the indicator is also part of a downward trend over the last 12 months. The report notes that, after the peaks recorded in September and October 2025, homicides showed a downward trend and closed July of this year with six incidents.

In the specific comparison for July, there was no year-on-year variation: six intentional homicides and six victims were recorded, exactly the same number of incidents as in July 2025. The cases were distributed among the departments of Capital, with three; Punilla, Río Segundo, and San Justo, with one each.

Strong reduction in thefts and burglaries in Córdoba

The report also shows a significant decrease in property crimes. In particular, thefts and burglaries totaled 41,237 incidents between January and July 2026, compared to 53,985 during the same period in 2025.

The difference represents 12,748 fewer incidents and an accumulated reduction of 23.6%.

The decline is even greater when comparing exclusively July: during the last month, 5,742 thefts and burglaries were recorded, against 7,737 in July 2025, which implies a year-on-year decrease of 25.8%.

The evolution over the last 12 months shows, according to the Observatory, a general downward trend in this type of crime.

The peak of the period occurred in August 2025, with 7,188 incidents, while the minimum was recorded in April 2026, with 5,419. In July, the figure stood at 5,742 cases.

In total, during July, 12,981 allegedly criminal incidents were recorded throughout the provincial territory. Of these, 8,074 corresponded to property crimes, equivalent to 62.2% of the total.

Traffic deaths in Córdoba

In terms of road safety, July closed with 24 fatal traffic accidents and 32 victims.

The figure represents an increase compared to the 30 victims recorded in July 2025. In the annual total, 216 victims are counted, compared to 213 during the first seven months of last year
