Women's Day: She shot her 3-year-old son but was given house arrest
The woman from Corrientes murdered her own son with a motor disability and threw him into the bushes.
Hours before International Women's Day, the Justice of the province of Corrientes committed an aberrant act, in which a ruling justified the life sentence and "house arrest" of Brenda Miño, who murdered her 3-year-old son Naithan in 2023.
The child was found in some bushes in the Las Flores neighborhood, Corrientes, and the cause of this murder would be that the child suffered from a motor disability.
The woman was found guilty of the crime of "double aggravated homicide by the bond," determined by judges Marcelo Pardo, Marcelo Fleitas, and Gustavo Ifran. To deliver this verdict, the magistrate relied on three essential pieces of evidence

"Naithan, due to his motor conditions, could not have reached the place where his body was found by himself, so in sound logic and resorting to the maxims of experience, it is inferred that there was interference, that is, the action of another; and even as a hypothesis that the defense might suggest, dead or not (by the inflicted blow), he is abandoned there, either to hide the lifeless body (trace of the crime) or, ultimately, to let him die, exhausting the action," the judges assured in the document.
Secondly, it was demonstrated that the child showed signs of previous violence. "The death was traumatic, ruling out accidental or natural causes, as argued by her defense, which was evidenced by the confirmed cranial injury, and it was not the only one verified in life, due to the traces of blood infiltration found in the remains of the abdomen," the lawyers emphasized.
Finally, the fact that the murderous mother hid the body so that no one could assist the child would aggravate her procedural situation. "The authorship is determined, in that action, that kills and hides the body, or abandons it to die, based on the weighed testimonies, which establish the accused's lie, as they were not going to see Naithan because she had given him up for adoption, handing him over to a social worker."

Why will Brenda Miño have house arrest?
According to Justice, Brenda Miño will be granted house arrest during the first years of her sentence because she currently has a two-year-old daughter. Therefore, only when the little girl turns five will she leave the home.
This fact was repudiated by the entire community, considering that the child will be under the care of her own brother's murderer.
