For years, the relationship between Zulemita Menem and her father, former president Carlos Menem went through tense moments. One of the most significant occurred after the birth of Máximo, the son of the former president and former Miss Universe from Chile, Cecilia Bolocco. The new presidential family created a distance that was felt both privately and publicly: Zulemita distanced herself from her father for a time, and the relationship with Bolocco was, from the beginning, complicated. It was not until Menem definitively separated from his Chilean partner that an attempt at reconciliation with his daughter began.

However, the family wounds do not seem to have fully healed. Weeks ago, Zulemita broke her silence and spoke about her relationship with her brother Máximo and his mother. Although she expressed her desire to leave the controversies behind, her words were not well received and reignited old conflicts.
In an interview with the Chilean program Zona de Estrellas, Zulemita described the uncomfortable moment she experienced during an event in Argentina when she tried to greet Cecilia and Máximo. “When I saw them enter, I approached to greet them because I don't refuse to greet anyone, nor do I want to be in conflict, and Cecilia did not even turn her face. She saw me and said: 'Get away!' It was a horrible reaction because she pushed me, I tried to greet Máximo and she put her hand up, pushed me away again and I left,” said the former president's daughter, making clear the level of tension that still persists.
