With an eye on energy supremacy, the president celebrated the agreement reached with Venezuela to develop its oil industry

Experts consulted by Just The News stated that the historic agreement reached by President Donald Trump to acquire approximately 65,000 million barrels of Venezuelan oil ensures the energy supremacy of the United States and sends a strong message to the OPEC cartel and the progressive Canadian government.

The pact was announced by the president on Friday night and doubles the stock of U.S. oil reserves, costing American taxpayers nothing. Experts in the field celebrated the news and stated that it has a marked geopolitical impact.

"What I think we are seeing is truly a long-term vision of how our country, the United States of America, wants to be the leader in oil markets: American energy supremacy. And this means breaking away from this OPEC cartel. It means trying to free the world from the madness in the Middle East," said Sam Romain, president of Americans for Energy Dominance, to the aforementioned outlet.

Romain also argued that Trump's announcement exposed the delusional Canadian stance, whose leftist government, led by globalist Mark Carney, threatened to stop sending crude oil to the United States due to the trade dispute with the White House.

The White House parted ways with Carney last week over the trade dispute between the two neighboring countries.

"This is how trade with Canada works: they have no refining capacity or a strategic oil reserve," explained the analyst. "They extract a very thick and heavy crude oil from the ground, while in the United States we have a very light crude, and we have to mix and match both."

"Therefore, they send 4 million barrels a day, but what they receive in return is gasoline. So if they want to shut down the crude pipeline, fine, go ahead. But they are not going to receive any gasoline, so it's a paper tiger," he added.

"This historic transaction more than doubles U.S. oil reserves, greatly increases our oil supply, and will substantially reduce fuel prices for all Americans for a long time to come, while helping to steer Venezuela towards tremendous success and great prosperity," Trump wrote yesterday regarding the agreement.
