Historic: Trump sent his ambassador to Netanyahu's trial to show his support
The diplomat Mike Huckabee appeared in the Tel Aviv courts as a show of US support for Bibi
In an unprecedented event, United States President Donald Trump expressed his full support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the trial against him.
The scene at the Tel Aviv District Court was revealing: former governor and current U.S. ambassador Mike Huckabee appeared in the courtroom to support Netanyahu during his testimony, alongside Knesset President Amir Ohana.
However, as soon as Huckabee took his seat among the public, the court decided to declare the hearing closed to the public, requiring everyone—including the U.S. diplomat—to leave the premises.
Before leaving, Huckabee, Netanyahu, and Ohana took a symbolic photograph in an adjacent room. An image that sends a clear message: the Israeli leader is not alone.

During the hearing, Prosecutor Yonatan Tadmor questioned Netanyahu about his relationship with Hollywood magnate Arnon Milchan, who collaborated with Israeli intelligence services and requested a long-term visa for the United States.
It is alleged that Netanyahu intervened with then U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to facilitate the process. The prime minister requested that the hearing be made private, given that the topics discussed included sensitive security matters.
The case is presented as an attempt to criminalize common diplomatic and personal interactions between heads of state and prominent figures.
Support from figures such as Trump and Huckabee highlights that the judicial process against Netanyahu not only raises doubts in Israel, but also among international allies who see in this trial an attempt to remove a democratically elected leader by legal means.
