Lilly Téllez proposed to safeguard the labor and legal rights of police officers.
The PAN senator promotes a reform that guarantees labor justice and legal protection for police officers
Faced with what she described as "mistreatment and dispossession by Morena", Senator Lilly Téllez presented a bill to strengthen the labor, legal, and social rights of police officers in Mexico.
The proposal modifies Chapter I of Title Three of the General Law of the National Public Security System, adding a Article 39 Bis.
Social security, legal security, and labor dignity
Téllez proposes a comprehensive legal framework that guarantees dignified working conditions, social security, stability, fair remuneration, and free legal defense for security personnel.
She also proposes to include adequate equipment, identity protection, digital security, and the right of police officers not to participate in high-risk operations if their essential rights are violated.

Morena under criticism for treatment of police
From her X account, the PAN legislator directly accused the ruling party of stripping police officers of basic rights. Her initiative seeks to align with national and international standards in human rights and labor security.
Context of abandonment and politicization
In the official synopsis of the project, Téllez highlights that this initiative responds to the institutional abandonment experienced by police forces, often used politically but without access to labor justice or effective legal protection.
If approved, this reform would establish historical precedents in the professionalization and legal defense of security forces in Mexico.
