The Broad Front intends to reform the Armed Forces in the Chavista style

Orsi's government intends for the military to be loyal to its socialist political project, in the style of Hugo Chávez

Yamandú Orsi's government is determined to infiltrate the Armed Forces so that they will be loyal to its radical far-left political project.

They are obsessed with having officers and subordinate personnel
addicted to their political force, and they have already begun to operate politically.

According to the weekly Búsqueda, "The ruling party's bench of the Senate Defense Committee is taking its time to approve some promotions for members of the National Army.

On the agenda for the Monday, 7th session, the vote on the promotion of Colonels Alejandro Córdoba Schunk and Pablo Font García was scheduled. But when the time came to bring the matter up for consideration in the session, Frente Amplio senator Felipe Carballo said that at that point he could only vote for Córdoba's promotion.

Although the opposition said it was "in a position" to approve both, it was decided to postpone their consideration until the next session."

In the case of these two high-ranking officers, Frente Amplio senators believe that they are supporters of the Coalición Republicana parties, specifically Cabildo Abierto, which is why they are looking for an excuse not to vote for their promotion.

Their idea is that promotions to the highest ranks of the Army, Navy, and Air Force should go to officers who in some way answer to Frente Amplio, or at least do not oppose this political force.

For them, it is not about having professional Armed Forces at the service of the Nation, but rather about having a military establishment addicted to their top-priority political project and supportive of 21st-century socialism, in the worst style of Nicolás Maduro's Venezuelan narco-dictatorship.

Topolansky's words

"I need at least a third of the officers and half of the troops on my side, as a goal. I would like all of them. But a sustainable base would be that."

This was stated by Lucía Topolansky, according to the weekly Búsqueda on May 3, 2012.

In Buenos Aires, in that 2012, the wife of then-Tupamaro president José Mujica indicated that she wants "Armed Forces loyal to Frente Amplio's political project," and said that "the Executive Branch is working in that direction, in Venezuela it is working very well."

On May 5, 2012, Infobae reported that Topolansky stated that "it is necessary for a large part of the members of the Armed Forces to be allies of the ruling party. For this, the curricula were modified, in 1999 HugoChávez began in this way."

At that time, the wife of the President of the Republic was crystal clear, they tried to penetrate the Armed Forces to make them loyal to the Uruguayan far-left project.

Now, in 2025, the idea is exactly the same. They intend for the Armed Forces, instead of serving the Republic, to serve Frente Amplio and its socialist leftist project, totalitarian, anti-democratic, and anti-liberal.

It is the same authoritarian recipe that socialist dictator Hugo Chávez began in Venezuela in 1999, and which was later continued by other tyrants such as Evo Morales in Bolivia, Rafael Correa in Ecuador, Cristina Kirchner in Argentina, Michelle Bachelet in Chile, Lula da Silva in Brazil, and more recently Gustavo Petro in Colombia.

The Chavista script

The Venezuelan socialist dictator took office in his country on February 2, 1999, and from that day on he set out to make the Armed Forces loyal so that they would be at his service.

In a short time, he removed republican military leaders from command positions and installed addicts to his political project. He persecuted and harassed the military who served the Republic, and in their place appointed military leaders who answered directly to him.

Those military personnel who supported democracy, freedom, and private property were persecuted.

Those who adhered to his totalitarian and anti-democratic political project were promoted.

On May 25, 2003, the ultra-corrupt Néstor Kirchner assumed the presidency in Argentina and followed the same scheme.

Kirchner removed the heads of the Armed Forces, and in their place promoted military personnel addicted to his personal political project.

Later, his wife, Cristina Fernández, promoted military personnel who shared her anti-democratic ideology, and sidelined those who were true professionals serving the Republic.

Since 2006, the Bolivian socialist narco-dictator Evo Morales has done the same. He infiltrated Cuban agents into his country's Military School, so that they would be indoctrinated in communism.

He persecuted those in uniform who served the Republic, and in their place installed Castroist sycophants.

For the Latin American left, always authoritarian and anti-liberal, the military must enter the service of their anti-democratic political project, and not serve the Republic.

The Uruguayan case

Sandra Lazo, the current Minister of Defense, has as one of her objectives to penetrate the Armed Forces and place in the highest ranks officers who at least are not sympathizers of the parties of the Coalición Republicana.

It is the same anti-democratic recipe of the radical Latin American left. They want to have military personnel, both officers and subordinate personnel, at the service of their radical project, anti-democratic, and anti-liberal, which seeks to destroy freedom, democracy, and private property.

The Chavista project is installed in Orsi's government, and in a silent and covert manner they are operating so that the military establishment ceases to be professional and becomes addicted to the authoritarian and anti-liberal project of the left.

They are the same totalitarian wreckage as always, it is the violent and totalitarian far left, which wants to use the Armed Forces for a project hostile to freedom.
