2XKO: Riot Games presents Caitlyn and confirms the start of Season 1

Riot Games once again shook the fighting game community with a key announcement. 2XKO introduced its new champion for Season 1 and confirmed release dates that, due to time zones, are confusing for many players.

The title, inspired by the League of Legends universe, had already been generating anticipation since its initial stage as Project L. Now, with new content and expansion to consoles, the hype has risen again.

Caitlyn joins the roster: precision and long-range control

The major novelty of Season 1 is the arrival of Caitlyn Kiramman, the Sheriff of Piltover. Armed with her classic hextech rifle, she is shaping up as a character focused on long-range gameplay and stage control.

Her style targets zoning, with long-range shots, traps to condition the opponent, and evasive moves that allow her to reposition quickly. In a 2v2 format, she works best with fighters that gain ground and apply close-range pressure.

What 2XKO offers and why it stands out

2XKO is a team-based fighting game that pits pairs of characters against each other in dynamic battles. In addition to the classic tag system, it incorporates modifiers called Fuses, which allow players to customize their playstyle.

One of the most talked-about is Juggernaut, which powers up a main character but removes assists. This mechanic adds tactical depth and sets the game apart from other titles in the genre.

The premiere dates that confused players

Riot confirmed that 2XKO Season 1 will arrive between January 20 and 21, 2026. The dual date corresponds to a synchronized global launch.

The game will go live on January 20 at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). In Argentina and other countries, this means that it will only be available on January 21.
