Almost half of Argentine workersrejected at least one job offer because it required in-person attendance, according to a study conducted by Bumeran.
On the other hand, 39% stopped looking for jobs that required going to the office every day and another 9% dismissed proposals that involved some degree of attendance.
The survey, called 100% In-Person, involved the participation of more than 3,000 workers and human resources specialists.
Among those surveyed, only 2% claimed to have rejected an offer for being completely remote, while 50% stated that they never dismissed a job opportunity based on the proposed modality.
Remote work
The most chosen scheme
The data shows that currently, 47% of respondents work under a hybrid modality. Meanwhile, 33% work in person and 20% work completely remotely.
When given the option to choose, the combined format is again the most mentioned option: 51% would prefer a hybrid scheme, while 41% would choose to work remotely. Only 8% would opt for a fully in-person modality.
The modality can also become a condition for accepting a new job. 64% of the surveyed workers stated that they would reject a proposal if it did not match their ideal work scheme. Within that group, 50% indicated that they would specifically dismiss a completely in-person position.
Federico Barni, CEO of Bumeran.com at Jobint, stated that “the hybrid scheme grew by 24 percentage points compared to 2025 and has consolidated as the predominant modality, while total in-person attendance fell by 30 points.”
On-site work
Support for remote work
Among those who prefer to work remotely or in a hybrid manner, the savings associated with commuting appear as one of the main arguments. 83% pointed out this aspect as a benefit, while 77% highlighted that these formats facilitate the balance between personal and work life.
Additionally, 73% valued the lower expenses on transportation, meals, clothing, and other costs related to daily office attendance. In the case of those who choose the hybrid or remote format, 63% also emphasized the ability to better organize their schedules.
62% mentioned the comfort and concentration they find at home, in addition to the possibility of working from different locations. 54% linked these modalities with an improvement in emotional well-being and 52% stated that they allow for reducing distractions and increasing productivity.
Support for in-person work
In-person attendance also presents advantages for the group that chooses it. 49% highlighted the interaction and connection with their colleagues, while 45% considered that the office promotes communication and teamwork.
In the same proportion, workers associated in-person attendance with greater opportunities for learning and professional development and with an improvement in productivity. Additionally, 39% valued access to company tools and resources, and another 39% noted as a benefit the greater ease of separating work from personal life.
