This was reported by the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC), which highlighted growth in both the cabotage and international markets.
According to official data, the total passenger traffic at the country's airports reached 4,377,562 people. This figure represents an increase of 7% compared to the previous record of February 2025, when 4,108,996 users had been registered
.
In parallel, there was also an all-time high in air movements. During the month, 32,755 operations were achieved, each corresponding to a takeoff or landing, which implies an increase of 1% compared to the previous record of February 2019 (32,432) and an increase of 2% compared to February 2025 (32,042)
. Aerolíneas Argentinas.
The positive performance was reflected in both domestic and international flights. In the cabotage segment, the number of passengers reached 2,723,224, marking a new historic peak. This value is 1% above the previous record recorded in February 2025, which had been 2,707,330
travelers.
The interior of the country and the outside
The ANAC also highlighted the strong growth in airports in the interior of the country. Among the most prominent cases is Rio Cuarto, with a year-on-year increase of 82%, followed by Resistencia with 49%, Puerto Madryn with 26%, Tucumán with 18% and El Calafate with 17%
.
In terms of international traffic, the growth was even more significant. The volume of passengers who traveled abroad reached 1,654,338 people, representing an increase of 18% compared to the previous record of February 2025, when 1,401,666
users had registered.
The increase was also reflected in international operations, which totaled 10,343 movements. This figure is 14% higher than the record high of February 2018 (9,069) and is 15% above February 2025 (8,992
). Aerolíneas Argentinas.
Within this segment, inland airports once again showed a leading role. Salta led growth with an increase of 78%, followed by Córdoba with 74% and Rosario with an increase of 48% in its aeronautical activity. Meanwhile, the country's main terminals also registered increases: Aeroparque grew by 14% and Ezeiza
by 13%.
An important fact that reflects the change in the dynamics of air transport is the growth of international flights from the interior without going through Buenos Aires.
During February 2026, a total of 282,093 passengers traveled abroad directly from provincial terminals. This represents an increase of 49% compared to the previous year, 129% compared to 2024 and 207% compared to
2023.
The data released by the ANAC thus demonstrate a scenario of strong expansion of the commercial air sector, with sustained growth in all indicators and an increasing role of airports in the interior of the country, thanks to the deregulation promoted by the Government of Milei.
