Córdoba: a police chief intervened in a car-care fight and ended up being shot

A dramatic event occurred Tuesday night Tuesday in the Carola Lorenzini neighborhood, in the capital of Córdoba, when a police chief was shot after intervening in a fight between caretakers or “naranjitas”.

Inspector Rubén Brandán was shot in the back after trying to intervene in a conflict that occurred on Fuerza Aérea and Ingeniero Lópeza Avenue.

The incident occurred after 10 p.m., when Brandán, who was in plain clothes, tried to mediate an argument while shopping at a fast food store

Confusion reportedly won the scene and led to gunshots.

Witnesses mention that the regulatory cash weapon fell off him, causing a lack of

control.

Justice is investigating the possible involvement of a car in the incident.

Brandán was rushed to the Police Polyclinic and then referred to the emergency hospital.

According to initial information, the gunshot affected one lung.

It was known that the uniformed personnel are lucid and out of danger.

The doctors will perform an MRI to find out what damage the gunshot caused.

So far, no people have been arrested.
