Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, confirmed that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) eliminated Esmaeil Khatib, the Iranian regime's intelligence chief.
The attack occurred overnight in Tehran, as part of a large scale air offensive against the regime's strategic infrastructures.
Katz said that the operation marks a new step in military escalation and anticipated that there will be “important surprises” in the coming hours.

According to the IDF, the Israel Air Force carried out a large scale attack on key
regime targets.The targets hit included:
military headquarters
, ballistic missile installations
, security force logistics centers
, structures linked to the Revolutionary Guard. Air defense systems were also attacked to
consolidate Israeli air superiority over Iranian space

One of the objectives was the headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard security unit, responsible for suppressing internal protests
.The IDF noted that these attacks seek to weaken the Iranian regime's pillars of internal control, in addition to its military capacity.
