Boca continues to have injuries and has now suffered a significant loss in the middle of the court: Santiago Ascacíbar will be off the court for about three weeks after confirming a muscle injury in his left hamstring, so he will not be able to be present in the next match against Instituto de Córdoba.

The midfielder must have come out in the 1-1 tie against Union in Santa Fe six minutes into the second half, after feeling discomfort that set off alarms in the coaching staff. Subsequent studies confirmed the tear, leaving the former Estudiantes out of consideration at a key moment in

the team.

After the match, the xeneize coach, Claudio Úbeda, had anticipated the situation: “Ascacíbar's departure was because his hamstrings bothered him. I visually communicated with him and he gave me the sign

Since his arrival at the La Ribera club at the end of January, Ascacíbar had established himself as a fixture in the midfield, starting in all the games of the Apertura Tournament and showing a great level, even with goals in his two previous appearances against Lanús and San Lorenzo.

Their role is essential to connect Leandro Paredes, Milton Delgado and Tomás Aranda to the attack, providing dynamics and presence

in the rival area.

In his absence, Ánder Herrera appears as the main candidate to replace him in the next meeting, after having taken his place against Unión.

The injury comes at an inopportune time for Boca, although the upcoming FIFA date could mitigate the impact, as it will reduce the number of games the midfielder will miss as he progresses in his recovery.
