President Javier Milei spoke by phone this Sunday night with Luis Majul on LN+ after confirming the appointment of Diego Santilli as the new Chief of Cabinet. In a phone interview, the president explained the reasons for the decision, announced changes in the structure of the Government, and again questioned the paid journalism.
Milei linked Santilli's arrival with a new management phase and the need to modify traditional methods of Argentine politics. “If we truly want to change Argentina, the decision-making mechanisms must change. Continuing with Machiavelli's manual has sunk Argentina,” he stated.
In that vein, the President emphasized that the change his administration is promoting is not limited solely to macroeconomic ordering. “The change is not just about fixing the economy, which by the way, the numbers are very good,” he affirmed, questioning why much of the public discussion avoids focusing on the results of the management.
Later, Milei confirmed that Santilli's appointment will also involve an internal reorganization. “We are going to merge the Ministry of the Interior with the Chief of Cabinet. A large part of the work requires working with the governors. Santilli is a great worker who knows the trade,” he explained.
The president also defended the proper functioning of the Government and rejected claims that spoke of a paralyzed administration. “Last week the Super RIGI was released. The idea that things weren't working is also false,” he pointed out.
When asked about the quick decision regarding the replacement of Manuel Adorni, Milei assured that the Government was already analyzing alternatives due to the personal wear of the former chief of ministers. “We saw a decline in Manuel's morale. We had to have a solution in case he decided not to continue,” he replied.
The President also defended Adorni against media accusations and asked to wait for the judicial progress. “Just because what a public official says does not match what the media says does not mean the official is lying,” he stated. In that context, he questioned: “We are tired of seeing how they edit responses, how they generate lies. They contradict themselves based on what you say they said.”

Regarding the case, Milei maintained that it will be the Justice that must determine the truth. “Justice will demonstrate it. If it does, it shows how poorly and horribly the media work,” he asserted. He then compared the coverage of the case with other scandals involving Peronist leaders: “They dedicated only five minutes to all the millions of dollars found with Insaurralde. Come on.”
Majul mentioned the statements of Adrián Ravier about the positive role of journalism. Milei supported that view and marked a difference between journalism and state-funded political propaganda. “What Ravier said is not different from what I say. I believe journalism has a very important role. The issue is what we define as journalism: if it lives off official advertising, it is not journalism, it is propaganda,” he concluded.

At the end of the interview, Luis Majul interpreted that Santilli's appointment could be read as a message to the opposition to “build more and confront less.” Milei responded with a football analogy about his way of managing the Cabinet: “I move the team around to get results. Bilardismo.”
