Subnautica 2 finally has a confirmed date. After weeks of uncertainty and a fierce legal dispute with its publisher, the long-awaited underwater survival game will arrive in early access on May 14
.The announcement marks the end of a conflict that jeopardized the development of the title and highlighted the tensions between creativity and business within the gaming industry.
Justice returned control to the creators. The
conflict pitted developer Unknown Worlds against the publisher Krafton, which had displaced
the studio's founders.Among those affected were Ted Gill, Charlie Cleveland and Max McGuire, who reported that their departure responded to a strategy to delay the launch of the game and avoid paying a bonus of 250 million dollars.
