Ukraine has denounced a Russian attack on an industrial plant in the Zaporizhzhia region, which occurred shortly after President Volodimir Zelensky announced a ceasefire, which once again calls into question the viability of truces in the midst of the conflict.
According to Ukrainian authorities, the bombing hit industrial facilities considered strategic, causing material damage and affecting the functioning of local infrastructure. The attack occurred in the first few hours after the start of the cessation of hostilities, which Kiev interpreted as a direct violation of
the measure.The Ukrainian government pointed out that this type of action reinforces distrust of truce announcements, which on previous occasions had already been followed by new attacks. In this regard, they stressed that the continuity of the bombings complicates any
attempt at de-escalation.
The Zaporizhzhia region is one of the most sensitive points of the conflict, not only because of its industrial value, but also because of the presence of critical energy infrastructure. In recent years, the area has been the scene of repeated attacks affecting both civilian and strategic facilities, raising international concern
