The emergence of Javier Milei has not only transformed Argentina's economy and politics, but also the way power communicates. A report by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford revealed that the President comfortably leads the ranking of the most influential personalities on social media in the country, confirming that libertarianism is also prevailing in the digital sphere.

With over 6 million followers on Instagram and nearly 4 million on X, Milei has established himself as the most followed and mentioned politician in Argentina. According to the study, the president "uses social media as a direct communication channel and amplifies his message through a characteristically combative style", a strategy that broke with the traditional frameworks of previous governments and displaced the media intermediation that for years dominated Kirchnerist structures.

The Oxford report also highlighted the rise of Manuel Adorni, presidential spokesperson and a key figure in the government's communication. With a constant presence on social media and sharp oratory, Adorni has become one of the most influential voices in the country. His daily participation in conferences and viral posts reinforces the narrative of a transparent, austere, and determined government to confront the privileges of the old political system.

In second place is Eduardo Feinmann, a leading figure in political journalism with a direct and forthright style that has made him one of the most listened-to voices in the country. His defense of the government's structural reforms and his relentless criticism of Kirchnerism position him as a discursive ally of the libertarian administration in major media outlets and platforms.

Jonatan Viale and Jorge Lanata follow, both with a solid track record in traditional media and a massive digital presence. Viale combines his political analysis with a modern perspective on journalism, appealing to new generations who have migrated to social media for information. Lanata, meanwhile, continues to occupy a prominent place in the public imagination even after his death at the end of 2024: his journalistic legacy and the sustained impact of Periodismo Para Todos (PPT) on YouTube—with over one million subscribers—keep him as one of the most influential figures in the digital ecosystem.

In fifth place is Alejandro Fantino, founder of Neura Media, who has established his own space from which he promotes debates on politics, economics, and culture with a critical view of populism and openness to the ideas of liberty. Fantino has become a bridge between traditional journalism and new platforms, with a reflective tone that connects with diverse audiences.

The Oxford study shows a structural transformation: Argentine users no longer depend on major media outlets for information. Facebook remains the most used network for news (38%), followed by Instagram (35%) and YouTube (28%), while TikTok is growing rapidly among younger people. In this context, creators and communicators linked to the libertarian movement—such as Fantino with Neura Media or influencers like "Tipito Enojado"—are building a community that expands political debate beyond traditional formats.

The same survey reveals that the most cited journalistic brands remain TN, La Nación, Infobae, C5N, Telefe, Crónica, and Clarín, although the spotlight is increasingly shifting toward figures who manage to transcend conventional media and build their own digital identity.
