A precise kick and a knee to the face: the shocking KOs in African MMA

Abdoul Sankara and Dwight Joseph delivered stunning finishes that left fans breathless and secured their place in the semifinals

The second edition of PFL Africa, held in Johannesburg, South Africa, left an indelible mark on the global mixed martial arts calendar. Out of the ten bouts contested, two knockouts stood out for their power and technique, delivered by Abdoul Razac Sankara and Dwight Joseph, who advanced to the tournament's featherweight semifinals with finishes that made headlines throughout the MMA world.

Sankara, a native of Burkina Faso with world and national titles in Muay Thai, entered the tournament after a rising career in MMA. His opponent, Shadrick Yemba, undefeated and with a record of finishes, came from a karate background and was known for his speed.

In just two minutes of the first round, Sankara executed a lethal sequence: after several low kicks, he feinted with one leg and delivered a high kick that instantly knocked Yemba down. The referee stopped the fight immediately, declaring a knockout that recalled classic moments from kickboxing and MMA.
