Several months have passed since Marcelo Moretti requested a leave of absence as president of San Lorenzo following the release of controversial videos that could involve bribery. The Argentine Football Association (AFA), under the leadership of Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia, initiated an investigation into the Ciclón's executive, who is also a board member of the organization, and according to journalist Germán García Grova, there could be a resolution in the coming days.
San Lorenzo's Ethics and Discipline Tribunal requested on July 14 the removal, disqualification, and expulsion of Moretti from the club. However, AFA replied by invoking the principle of non bis in idem, which establishes that a person can't be tried twice for the same act, and halted the internal proceedings, leaving the decision in the hands of the Ethics Committee of the governing body of Argentine football.
The journalist from TyC Sports and Radio La Red stated on his X account: "AFA's Ethics Committee would issue a resolution in the coming days, stating that there are no impediments for Marcelo Moretti to continue as a member of the Executive Committee." He also indicated that this decision is expected to be announced together with the resolution of the ordinary justice system.
