Adorni announced the rearmament of the Armed Forces and a package of laws for private property

The Government of Javier Milei is moving forward with an agenda of structural reforms. The Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, announced the strengthening of the Armed Forces and the sending of a package of key laws to Congress

The objective is clear: to rebuild national defense, guarantee private property and organize the economic and legal framework.

Adorni confirmed that 10% of revenues from privatizations will be used to equip and modernize

the Armed Forces.

The official remarked that this is a State policy. “National defense is an issue that must be above any ideology,” he said.

In addition, he questioned the dominant view in recent decades. He pointed out that there was a “biased reconstruction” of the 70s that prevented the closing of a key stage in Argentine history

End of the abandonment and reconstruction of the defense system

The Government seeks to reverse years of divestment in the military area. The commitment is to recover strategic capabilities and strengthen the role of the Armed Forces.

The initiative aims to return to the country a key tool for sovereignty and security.

Evictions and Defense of Private Property Act One of the

central axes of the legislative package will be the defense of private property

.

The Executive will send an Eviction Act that will allow occupied properties to be recovered in less than five days.

The measure seeks to end impunity for usurpations and to provide legal certainty to owners and investors.

Reforms to attract investment and free up the economy The

package also includes changes to:

• Expropriations

• Act Rural Land Act (allowing sales to foreigners)

• Law on Fires

• Environmental Regulations

The Government will also make progress on amendments to the Glaciers Act, returning the decision on mining activity to the provinces

Adorni noted that Argentina had one of the most restrictive regulatory frameworks in the world, holding back investment.

Tightening of the Criminal Code and migration control

In terms of security, the Government will promote a reform of the

Criminal Code.

Penalties are expected to be tightened and new crimes linked to immigration will be incorporated.

“There are security issues that can't wait,” Adorni said.

Changes in education and disability to avoid fiscal collapse The

Executive will also modify laws passed in 2023 in areas such as Disability

and Higher Education.

According to Adorni, these rules “lead to the merging of us as a country”. The objective is to maintain assistance, but with a sustainable system.

Judicial reform and institutional strengthening

The Ministry of Justice will send 60 lists of judges, prosecutors and defenders to the Senate

.

The Government seeks to accelerate the filling of vacancies and improve the functioning of the judicial system.

“Justice is a fundamental pillar,” remarked the Chief of Staff.

Openness to the world and international agenda

Adorni welcomed the implementation of the Mercosur—European Union agreement, highlighting the Government's commitment

to international integration.

He also highlighted the CIA's recognition of the Argentine intelligence system, after a meeting in Washington.

Transparency and break with the past

The official confirmed that he will submit his management report to Congress on April 29.

In addition, he said he had made available all the information about his assets.

“We are not the same as those who came before,” he said.
