Barcelona will experience an emotional and symbolic day this Saturday, November 22, against Athletic Bilbao. For the 13th matchday of La Liga, the Catalan team will play an official match at the Camp Noufor the first time in more than two years after closing its doors for renovation work.

The last appearance of the blaugrana team at its stadium was on May 28, 2023, on the 38th matchday of La Liga, when the team, then led by Xavi, won 3-0 against Mallorca, with a brace from Ansu Fati and a goal from Gavi, along with the emotional farewells of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
Although the return to Camp Nou marks a milestone, it won't be at full capacity. Hansi Flick's team will have a maximum authorized attendance of 45,401 spectators, after the city council gave the green light to license 1B. The stadium will reach its final capacity of more than 105,000 seats once the full renovation is completed.
The return home not only impacts La Liga, since the club is working against the clock with the hope of hosting Eintracht Frankfurt on December 9 for the sixth matchday of the Champions League group stage, which would be the first European match in the new Camp Nou.
Meanwhile, the match against Athletic will mark the first chapter of a new era at the club's stadium, a return eagerly awaited by players, fans, and directors who see in this reopening a symbolic boost for the season.
