The deputy once again took legal action regarding his expulsion after having run with his own list and broken with his electoral base

For the third time in less than a year, PRO Córdoba has become embroiled in the internal crisis caused by Oscar Agost Carreño.The deputy once again decided to take the conflict to court, after disregarding the party leadership and forcing a split in the middle of an election year. His strategy follows the same script: portraying himself as a victim while seeking to maintain a party structure that no longer represents him.
The opposite direction from the path Argentina needs
Carreño was elected under the PRO banner, but his subsequent actions completely diverged from the mandate given to him by the electorate. Instead of supporting a political renewal project aligned with the change of course promoted by Javier Milei's government, he chose to operate according to the logic of old politics. His candidacy outside the official space was a maneuver that ultimately benefited Kirchnerism.
In the legislative elections on October 26, Agost Carreño decided to run with his own PRO list, disregarding the electorate that sent him to Congress. His move aimed to serve Kirchnerism and act against the liberal project promoted by Javier Milei. He underestimated Córdoba's voters, but the result was clear: the public overwhelmingly supported Gonzalo Roca, the libertarian candidate.
Carreño fue electo con el sello del PRO, pero sus acciones posteriores se alejaron por completo del mandato que le dio el electorado.
Taking political disputes to court, a recurring habit
After the party intervention ordered by the National Council, Agost Carreño once again turned to the courts in an attempt to retain control of the banner. This is not the first time he has done so: every time he loses internal support, he goes to court to try to maintain his position. His litigious behavior delays any possibility of party reconstruction and deepens institutional erosion.
In his statements, the deputy insists that this is political persecution, but avoids explaining why he disregarded the decisions of PRO's governing bodies. The reality shows that there was no persecution, but rather a natural reaction to someone who emptied the party of substance. His rhetoric of "defending the members" contrasts with his decision to run outside the space he claims to represent.
Su candidatura por fuera del espacio oficial fue una maniobra que terminó beneficiando al kirchnerismo.
The electorate, the truly betrayed
Agost Carreño claims to seek "to restore internal democracy," but in reality, he betrayed the will of those who elected him. His distancing is not due to ideological differences, but to a personal survival strategy. The result was political isolation and the loss of trust from those who supported genuine renewal.
Meanwhile, the national leadership is trying to bring order to PRO across the country, Córdoba has become the clearest example of what happens when individual interest prevails over the collective. The Carreño case exposes behavior that serves the status quo that the party itself was founded to fight against.
En las legislativas del 26 de octubre, Agost Carreño decidió competir con una lista propia del PRO, desoyendo al electorado que lo llevó al Congreso.
