At a time of full consolidation in Liverpool, Alexis Mac Allister was faced with unexpected news. Although he continues to be an important piece of the team and still has a valid contract with the Reds, the Argentine midfielder acknowledged that it made him sad to know that the institution was not in a position to offer him a renewal for now.
Before the English team's debut in the Champions League against Atlético de Madrid, Mac Allister spoke about his present and admitted that the club's decision affected him. "I received the news that the club was not in a position to offer me a new contract, which, of course, makes me very, very sad because I think everyone can see that I give 100% for this football club every day, in training and in matches", expressed the Argentine.
The midfielder, who came from Argentinos Juniors, assured that he celebrates the renewals of his teammates Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch, although he recognized that the situation also awakened a different feeling in him. "I see Dominik and Ryan renewing their contracts and that makes me very happy because they deserve it, but at the same time it makes me a little sad that I haven't received mine", he stated.
Nonetheless, Mac Allister sought to reassure and made it clear that his intention is not to leave Anfield. Although there are different references regarding the exact duration of his contract, the Argentine has a contract with Liverpool for the coming seasons and, for now, does not plan to force a departure. "Of course, there is still time. I think the fans don't have to worry because I will give my 100% until the last day I am here", he assured.
