Prime Video shared a video from the set confirming the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The epic fiction based on the work of J.R.R. Tolkien continues to expand its universe in the Second Age of Middle-earth.
After the success of the second installment, Amazon Studios decided to deepen the project. The series will have at least five seasons, with major new developments in its upcoming cycle.

What is known about the third season?
The new video, filmed directly on set, reveals that filming is already underway. The production has moved to Shepperton Studios, located on the outskirts of London.
The story will take a significant time jump to focus on the war between Sauron and the Elves, as well as show the creation of the One Ring.
How does the plot continue in the Second Age?
The new episodes will show Sauron advancing his plan for domination through the forging of the ultimate weapon. This event will mark a key point in the development of the story.
Additionally, Númenor will once again expand across Middle-earth, reclaiming ports and colonies, and increasing its influence. This will lead to the inevitable clash with the Dark Lord.

Direction returns to the hands of Charlotte Brändström, who will also serve as executive producer. She is joined by Sanaa Hamri and Stefan Schwartz, known for their work on The Walking Dead and The Boys.
