ANMAT banned Carbon Coco: whitening products promoted by Julieta Poggio and Flor Vigna

Several influencers shared it on social media, but ANMAT banned it because it was not registered or had any health endorsement

The National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) banned the commercialization of Carbon Coco products that circulated on social media.

The products had gained visibility because influencers such as Julieta Poggio, Flor Vigna, and Candelaria Tinelli showcased them on their profiles.

The agency stated that these were "illegitimate products," without sanitary registration, of unknown origin and manufacture, so their safety and efficacy could not be guaranteed.

What ANMAT ordered

Through Provision 5661/25, the use, sale, advertising, publication on open offer platforms, and distribution of all Carbon Coco products were banned.

The measure covered all presentations, batches, expiration dates, and net contents, until the company regularized its situation before the health authority.

The products involved are:

  • Natural Teeth Whitening Coco dental whitener
  • Natural Teeth Whitening Mint dental whitener
  • Natural Teeth Whitening Lemon dental whitener
  • Natural Teeth Whitening Strawberry dental whitener
  • Activated Charcoal Alcohol Free Rinse mouthwash
  • MASK facial mask

How the investigation began

The investigation began after a complaint was received by ANMAT's Cosmetovigilance area, which detected the offer of these products on online sales channels.

When the information was cross-checked with the database of authorized cosmetics, no matches were found between what was promoted and what was registered in the system.

For this reason, the agency proceeded with the ban to prevent potential health risks for consumers.

ANMAT recommended always verifying that cosmetics are registered and being wary of advice without professional support.

Given these health risks, it is advisable to critically evaluate information from social media and confirm data with official sources before using products that promise quick results.
