Apple launches instant translation with Artificial Intelligence in iOS 26
The iPhone now translates instantly with AI in FaceTime, calls, and messages. It is already being tested in iOS 26
Apple introduced one of the most anticipated features at the WWDC 2025: real-time translation integrated into iPhone.
This is a tool powered by artificial intelligence, arriving with the new version of the operating system, iOS 26.

What is iOS 26's live translation?
The new feature, called Live Translation, allows users to translate conversations instantly within different apps on the phone.
It works for both written messages and audio, and is integrated into FaceTime, Messages, and Phone.
Local AI translations: more privacy
According to Apple, the system works locally on the device. This means that personal data isn't uploaded to the cloud.

Translations are performed directly on iPhone, thanks to AI models integrated into Apple Intelligence.
How does iPhone translate conversations?
In the Messages app, iPhone translates as the user types. The message is delivered in the recipient's language.

When the other person replies, the text is automatically translated in the chat.
FaceTime and calls also receive the feature
During a video call, users can see the conversation subtitled in real time, with the original voice in the background.
In phone calls, the system translates throughout the entire conversation, providing a smooth and natural experience.

When will this feature be available?
Real-time translation is already part of the first beta versions of iOS 26.
Its official release is expected in the coming months, when Apple rolls out the update for all users.

Supported languages
Among the confirmed languages are Spanish, as well as English, French, German, and several others.
Apple doesn't rule out expanding language support as the technology advances.
