Arcane paved the way: its creator confirmed more League of Legends adaptations
The universe of Runeterra continues to expand and promises more visual stories following the success of Arcane
The series Arcane closed its first cycle on Netflix with an overwhelmingly positive reception, both among League of Legends fans and those who had never played the video game. Its success not only marked a milestone in adult animation, but also raised the standard for video game adaptations.
Although its story concluded, Arcane was just the beginning of something bigger. Christian Linke, co-creator and showrunner of the series, confirmed that the narrative universe of League of Legends will continue to grow in new productions. The creative is already working with Netflix exploring future projects, although he avoided giving specific details.
New stories on the way, but without haste
In a recent interview with Collider, Linke shared that the team is in the midst of the conceptual development stage. He held meetings with various Netflix creatives, discussing which paths they could take with an intellectual property as vast and rich as Riot Games'.

However, he showed caution when speaking about the future. "Anything we say will be set in stone," he warned. That reservation makes sense: the LoL community is as loyal as it is demanding, and it doesn't forgive unfulfilled promises.
Despite this, he made it clear that the enthusiasm remains intact. The team is already investing in people capable of bringing new perspectives and transforming the game's universe into complex narratives for the screen.
More characters, but with the right team
Linke assured that there are "a lot of great characters" with potential to star in new adaptations. However, he warned that the key is not just deciding what to tell, but who should tell it.
"The challenge is finding the right person," he stated, reaffirming that the talent selection criteria are as important as the story itself. For him, preserving Arcane's narrative quality is a non-negotiable priority.
The pressure from a global community of millions forces the team to build carefully. Although there are no announced dates or titles, the future is already underway. The next phase of the League of Legends universe is already in development, and although it moves quietly, it promises to be as ambitious as the phenomenon that started it.
