The Argentine Air Force has completed the qualification of the first Argentine pilots to operate the F-16 weapon system, achieving a new milestone in its modernization process
The flights took place in the morning at the Río IV Material Area, where the institution develops a central part of its program for incorporating these aircraft.
For the first time, national pilots occupied alone the cockpit of the F-16, meeting the formal requirements of the so-called “Solo Flight.” This step constitutes a key instance within the training process, as it certifies the aviators' ability to operate autonomously a fourth-generation aircraft.

The event marks a significant advance in the incorporation of the weapon system, within the framework of the Government's strategy led by Javier Milei aimed at recovering vital operational capabilities for the defense of Argentine airspace and territorial integrity.
The ceremony was led by the Minister of Defense, Carlos Alberto Presti, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Air Force, Gustavo Javier Valverde, along with other authorities and special guests.
From the official sphere, it was highlighted that the results achieved reflect “the professional quality and the high commitment assumed by the Executive, the Ministry of Defense, and the Argentine Air Force.”

In this sense, the recognition extends to all personnel involved in the process, including mechanics, assistants, and pilots, who completed a demanding training, education, and operational transition scheme.
The certification obtained is recorded as the first concrete achievement within the “Peace Cóndor” Program, an initiative that structures the progressive incorporation of the F-16 system in the country.
This process has the technical support of the company Top Aces, specialized in advanced tactical training, which allowed for strengthening operational and safety standards at this stage.
As a result, the aviators are now qualified to fly the F-16 system autonomously, incorporating new competencies, techniques, and procedures specific to this type of aircraft.
This development represents a significant change in the operational scheme of the Argentine military aviation, introducing capabilities in line with contemporary standards and consolidating a modernization process that continues to expand.
