The Government of Javier Milei has confirmed that the Argentine Army will participate in the NANOOK 2026 military exercise, one of the most important international operations in extreme climate environments, led by Canada and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
This measure is part of Argentina's efforts to strengthen its Armed Forces, improve their operational capacity, and position itself in the regional and international spheres.

According to the Ministry of Defense, NANOOK 2026 is considered the flagship exercise of the Canadian Armed Forces in the north of the country. It consists of a series of comprehensive activities aimed at exercising the defense of Canada and the protection of its northernmost regions, where extreme weather conditions pose unique challenges for military logistics and operations.
In this context, the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri, highlighted the importance of Argentina's participation: "We continue projecting ourselves in the region and internationally to position Argentina and strengthen the work, training, modernization, and equipment of our Armed Forces."
The official emphasized that the experience will allow the Army to acquire strategic and operational knowledge that will increase personnel preparedness for extreme situations and joint operations with international forces.

This news also comes in the wake of the recent South American Defense Conference (SOUTHDEC), held in Buenos Aires, where senior military leaders from South America and Europe met to discuss regional cooperation in the face of contemporary security challenges.
