Xeneize accelerates efforts to build Arruabarrena's squad, focusing on three Colombians and full-backs

The Boca Juniors management is constantly active in this transfer market With Rodolfo Arruabarrena's preseason about to start, the goal is to add significant reinforcements to strengthen a squad that needs new faces in several key areas.

In addition to confirmed departures such as Ander Herrera, Nicolás Orsini, and Leandro Paredes' call-up to the World Cup, the Xeneize seeks to organize the team as soon as possible at the express request of Vasco.

Among the priorities are three Colombians who have been monitored for some time: Álvaro Montero, Jhohan Romaña, and the well-known Sebastián Villa. This is complemented by inquiries for two right-backs and the never-ending hope for Paulo Dybala.

The goalkeeping position is one of the sensitive spots, and Álvaro Montero appears as a strong option. The Vélez goalkeeper had a great season, with few goals conceded and several clean sheets. Although his transfer belongs to Millonarios and Vélez plans to exercise the purchase option, initial contacts have already been made from Boca.

The tug-of-war for Romaña

Jhohan Romaña is another player who has been on the radar for a while. The San Lorenzo center-back's contract ends in December, and he is eager for a change of scenery. Riquelme activated conversations, first with his representative and then with Guillermo Franco, the new manager of San Lorenzo, whom he knows from his time at Villarreal.

The Xeneize offer is around three million dollars for the full transfer. The issue is not only economic for those from Boedo: selling another starter to a classic rival creates political noise, especially with a management that has just begun. Previous cases weigh heavily.

In parallel, Boca is monitoring two right-backs. Gastón Benavidez from Athletico Paranaense is performing well with several matches and assists. This is not the first time he has been on their radar; they had already followed him when he played for Talleres.

Leandro Lozano from Argentinos Juniors has also caught attention for his projections and striking ability. The Uruguayan is gaining minutes and creating danger, although the foreign player quota in Boca complicates things a bit and would need to be resolved with other departures.

The saga of Sebastián Villa

The story with Sebastián Villa has several chapters. The winger, currently at Independiente Rivadavia, generates interest and expectations. Daniel Vila had set a high price, but talks with Riquelme have smoothed things over, and the dialogue continues. Boca does not want to reach the eight or nine million that are being asked for and seeks to include players in the operation.

On the attacking side, the chance for Paulo Dybala remains alive. The Córdoba native has yet to define his future in Rome and has made statements that excite those at Brandsen 805. As long as his situation remains unresolved, the Xeneize waits but does not close other doors.

The general idea is to reinforce from the goal to the front, organizing departures and bringing in quality. The preseason in Ezeiza will serve to see how the group is formed and which pieces arrive first. The market has just begun, and Boca wants to be a protagonist.
