The Spanish defender, Aymeric Laporte, stated that the team internally analyzed the playing style of the Argentine National Team and considered that the referee's performance will be key to the development of the match.

As he explained, in the recent matches of Lionel Scaloni's team, they observed situations that, in their view, were too lenient from a disciplinary standpoint.

The defender maintained that Argentina is a rival that plays with great intensity and assured that some actions should be penalized more strictly to prevent the match from losing control. “In the last matches, we have seen things that have surprised us a lot, actions that are overlooked,” he expressed.

Beyond the analysis of the refereeing, Laporte made it clear that the Spanish team only contemplates one outcome for the final.

The center-back emphasized that, after the journey made in the tournament, missing out on the title would represent a great disappointment for the group. In their excitement, Spain is just one match away from making history, and the goal is to seize that opportunity.

Despite his criticisms of the Argentine game, Laporte had words of recognition for Lionel Messi, whom he described as one of the greatest figures in the history of football.

The defender highlighted that several generations grew up admiring the Argentine captain and acknowledged the magnitude of the challenge that facing him in a World Cup final represents.

However, he clarified that the value of winning the title does not depend on the current rival, but on achieving the objective of lifting the World Cup.
