Meat consumption in Argentina recorded a sustained improvement during September, thanks to the economic recovery achieved by the Government of Javier Milei, following the deep crisis inherited from Kirchnerism.
According to the Chamber of the Meat Industry and Trade (CICCRA), the 12-month moving average of per capita beef consumption reached 49.5 kg (109 pounds) per year, representing a 4.5% increase compared to the previous period, equivalent to 2.1 more kilograms (4.6 pounds) per person.
Despite the recovery, consumption is still 7.3% below 2023 levels, due to the effects of the loss of purchasing power accumulated during years of inflationary policies under Kirchnerism, which the current Government continues to address with a program of fiscal order and monetary stability.

Apparent beef consumption, which reflects national production available for the domestic market, grew by 6.2% year-on-year, reaching 1.742 million tons of carcass with bone.
