Benjamin Vicuña remembered his daughter Blanca with a message that moved everyone
19 years after his daughter's birth, the Chilean actor shared a tribute filled with love, pain, and poetry
Every May 15, Benjamín Vicuña turns pain into words. This year was no exception: his daughter Blanca, the result of his relationship with Carolina "Pampita" Ardohain, would have turned 19 years old, and the Chilean actor remembered her once again with an emotional message on his social media.
The tribute, published on his Instagram account, included three photos of the girl and an extensive text where the actor evoked Blanca's birth and reflected on the passage of time since her death in 2012.
"I saw you born 19 years ago on my mother's birthday. You carried my grandmother's name. You were born between the rain and an embroidered mountain range," Vicuña wrote in the first lines of the message.
The tribute he repeats every May 15
Since Blanca passed away almost 13 years ago, Vicuña has maintained the tradition of writing to her every May 15. This time, he reviewed his daughter's bright childhood and the indelible mark she left on his family.
"You were the happiest girl, the sweetest," he expressed tenderly. "You celebrated birthdays in the theater, traveled the world, you were the best older sister one could imagine."

He also recalled the tragic end: "One day in September you fell asleep," he wrote. Blanca died after being hospitalized for nine days in intensive care at the Clínica Las Condes in Chile, due to a hemorrhagic pneumonia that led to multisystem failure.
"You defeated oblivion": the power of memory
Vicuña's text became a poetic journey through grief and memory. "I began to collect hours, like a restorer of lost landscapes," he wrote, evoking his way of surviving the void.

In his words, Blanca remains present: "You are in your siblings' laughter, in the photos that at times come to life, in the memories that return like snow over the mountain range."
The image of his daughter remained suspended in time. "You are 6 and also 19," the actor wrote, alluding to the age she was when she passed away and the age she would have turned in 2025.
"I walk in the middle of autumn, without fear, because I have your coat," he added. The text concluded with a hopeful message: "Today life is celebrated, your eternity. Happy birthday love, may the music fill the void and may the night be brighter than ever."
Vicuña, once again, managed to transform the deepest pain into public poetry. In every word, he made Blanca present again: his girl, his star, his living memory.
