The boom that livestock farming is experiencing in Argentina was reflected this Monday in the numbers of the livestock auction of the firm Consignaciones Córdoba at the Rural Society of Jesús María.

While prices remained stable for livestock for consumption (steers), the feeder cattle segment (calves) recorded increases of up to 9%.

The lightest young steers fell by about $50 and were sold at $4,500, while the intermediate category and the heaviest ones were auctioned at $4,400, repeating the same prices as the previous week.

Meanwhile, females showed mixed behavior with an increase of $100 for the heifer, which was sold at $4,500, while the good cow held at $3,300.

The bulls gained $100 and reached a maximum of $3,400.

Increase in calf prices in Jesús María

The feeder cattle segment recorded increases of up to 9% in some categories.

Light calves rose by $200 and were sold at $6,100; calves weighing 150/200 kilos (331/441 pounds) recorded an increase of $500 and reached a ceiling of $6,000, and the heaviest ones had an increase of $300 and were auctioned at $5,700 per live kilo.

This Monday, trading took place with a supply of 1,190 animals, including 500 fattened cattle and 690 feeder animals and prices that were reflected as follows on the board according to the different categories.
