Dilan Joel Insfrán, a 17-year-old boy, was murdered by a minor criminal while he was trying to protect his mother during an attempted robbery that took place in the town of González Catán, in the Buenos Aires district of ultra KirchneristaLa Matanza.
Both the moments leading up to the attack and the escape of the main suspect and his accomplices were recorded by a security camera located at a neighbor's house. The footage proved crucial for investigators to carry out three arrests, including that of the perpetrator, a 15-year-old killer.
The tragic event took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Alejandro de Manzoni and Cepeda streets, while the family was returning home in a Toyota Hilux pickup truck. At that moment, the young man's mother, Alicia, was trying to park the vehicle in the garage, while Dilan was about to open the gate.

Suddenly, five armed criminals approached the woman to steal the pickup truck. With violence, they opened the driver's door and tried to drag her out. Dilan ran to defend her and placed himself between the strikers. During the confrontation, he received three gunshots, one in the neck and two in the right armpit, and was taken unconscious to Hospital Simplemente Evita, where he died due to the severity of his injuries.
A security camera installed at a neighbor's house recorded both the moments before the attack and the escape of the criminals, who fled on foot after the victim fell onto the sidewalk.
The security camera footage shows that Dilan falls wounded on Manzoni Street after receiving three gunshots. Subsequently, another camera captured the assailants' escape: four of them turned onto Cepeda and headed toward the Los Ceibos neighborhood, while the remaining one, who tried to escape via Alejandro de Manzoni, was intercepted by a group of neighbors and had to turn back to avoid being detained.

The case
Upon arriving at the scene, personnel from the DDI La Matanza of the Buenos Aires Police set up a crisis unit that made it possible to identify the suspects, including the perpetrator, a 15-year-old killer. Finally, the minor was arrested on Sunday during a raid carried out at a house located about 25 blocks from the crime scene, where he had taken refuge to evade the police.
Prosecutor Juan Pablo Pepe Volpicina, from UFIJ No. 1 of the Juvenile Criminal Court of the La Matanza Judicial Department, ordered a gunshot residue test, which confirmed that the teenager had been the material perpetrator of Dilan's murder. Sources in the case indicated that the minor had a criminal record for two cases of aggravated concealment.
