Thanks to the economic recovery achieved by the Government of Javier Milei, between March 2024 and March 2025, Argentinians' purchasing power showed a significant improvement regarding essential products in the basic basket such as sunflower oil, yerba mate, milk, asado, eggs, and bread.
The Confederación Intercooperativa Agropecuaria Limitada (CONINAGRO) presented its monthly report From Salary to Plate: How far does the salary go?, which analyzes the evolution of purchasing power using the RIPTE (Average Taxable Remuneration of Permanent Workers) as a reference, a figure provided by the Ministry of Human Capital.
According to the most recent report, salaries experienced a year-on-year increase of 93% between March 2024 and March 2025, far surpassing the year-on-year inflation of 56%, according to data from the Ministry of Labor. This translates into a real recovery of purchasing power.

How far does the salary go?
During the analyzed period, the salary according to RIPTE increased its purchasing power regarding the six basic products monitored by CONINAGRO in this report: sunflower oil, yerba mate, milk, asado, eggs, and bread.
The purchasing power to buy sunflower oil grew by 48.9%, which represents 116 additional 1.5-liter bottles. In March 2024, the salary was enough for 237 bottles; in March 2025, this amount rose to 353.
