Catamarca inaugurated the 2025 school year with a clear goal: to have bilingual schools

Governor Raúl Jalil led the ceremony for the start of the school year at School No. 8 'Governor José Cubas.'

With an event at School No. 8 "Governor José Cubas,"  the province of Catamarca began the 2025 school year.

Following Milei's request that not a single day of classes be lost, the ceremony was attended by Governor Raúl Jalil, the Minister of Education, Dalmacio Mera, the Minister of Government, Justice and Human Rights,  Nicolás Rosales, the Mayor of Valle Viejo,  Susana Zenteno, and representatives of the educational community.

Renovated infrastructure for the start of classes

The event was held in a fully renovated building, where improvements were made in classrooms, hallways, and rooms, in addition to the installation of a roof in the sports area and various modifications to optimize the safety and comfort of students and teachers.

During his speech, Governor Raúl Jalil highlighted the importance of education in the current context and the need to adapt to new times.

"We live in a new era, with climate change, water scarcity, and advances in robotics and artificial intelligence. Education must join these processes," expressed the leader.

He also emphasized the importance of joint work between the government, unions, legislators, and the University of Catamarca, with which progress is being made in the implementation of the Medicine program.

"This effort must be shared by everyone: students, parents, and local authorities," added Jalil.

Provincial Literacy Plan and a new bilingual school

The Minister of Education, Dalmacio Mera, announced important measures to improve the quality of education in Catamarca during this school year.

  • Continuation of the Provincial Initial Literacy Plan, with a focus on strengthening reading and writing in the early years of primary education.
  • Creation of the province's first bilingual school, a milestone in local education that seeks to equip students with tools for their future.

"Kids are the future, and we want to provide them with all the necessary tools to prepare them for life," concluded Mera.

With these announcements and improvements in school infrastructure,  Catamarca begins the 2025 school year with a firm commitment to education and innovation.
