Jalil Seeks Investments From India for the Development of Critical Minerals and Energy
The meeting is part of the trade mission being carried out by the government delegation from Catamarca in India.
The governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil, met in New Delhi with the president of Coal India Ltd (CIL), Sri P. M. Prasad, as part of his work agenda in India. During the meeting, opportunities for cooperation in renewable energies and critical minerals were explored, sectors in which the province seeks to attract foreign investments.
Jalil was joined by ambassadors Mariano Caucino (Argentina in India) and Dinesh Bhatia (India in Argentina), who highlighted the importance of strengthening the bilateral relationship in terms of sustainable development and strategic resources.
Coal India's interest in Catamarca's resources
Coal India Limited (CIL) is the world's largest state-owned coal production company, responsible for more than 80% of India's production. In recent years, the company has begun a diversification process toward new energy sources and critical minerals, which has led it to show strong interest in Catamarca's natural resources.

Governor Jalil emphasized the mineral and energy wealth of the province and expressed his intention to work together with the Indian company.
"Catamarca has great potential for the development of strategic projects that ensure energy security and sustainable development," he highlighted.
Objective: strengthen technological and energy cooperation

The meeting is part of the trade mission carried out by the governmental delegation of Catamarca in India. This trip seeks to consolidate cooperation agreements in key areas such as:
- Critical minerals, essential for the energy transition.
- Renewable energies, with the development of sustainable projects.
- Technological innovation, to improve efficiency in resource exploitation.
The dialogue between the parties confirmed the mutual interest in advancing investment agreements that boost the growth of Catamarca's mining-energy sector and strengthen the strategic relationship with India.
