This Tuesday, it was confirmed that the mastermind behind the murders of Brenda, Morena, and Lara has been captured. There are now nine people in custody

Police confirmed on Tuesday the arrest in Peru of Tony Janzen Valverde Victoriano, also known as "Pequeño J", identified as the mastermind behind the triple narco homicide that shocked Florencio Varela. The operation was carried out thanks to an investigation that included phone cross-referencing and international coordination."Pequeño J" had been the main suspect since the beginning of the investigation.

The main hypothesis is that he planned the kidnapping, torture, and execution of the three young women, and that he even allegedly ordered the murders to be broadcast live on social media as a mafia message.

The arrest took place just over an hour after his right-hand man, Matías Agustín Ozorio, was apprehended in Lima, bringing the number of people arrested for the murders of Brenda del Castillo (20), Lara Gutiérrez (15), and Morena Verdi (20) to nine.

Hours earlier, the Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, had reported on her X account the arrest in Lima of Matías Agustín Ozorio, considered "Pequeño J"'s accomplice. "The fugitive was arrested in a joint operation by the Peruvian National Police and Interpol of PFA," the official detailed.

At the time of his arrest, Ozorio claimed that he had arrived in Peru deceived by other drug traffickers and that he was homeless after escaping from a mafia group. "They brought me here under false pretenses. I owed him money. Two days ago I escaped and I've been coming down from Trujillo," he stated to an officer. According to his own account, his escape included a journey through Paraguay, the jungle, and then the Peruvian interior.

The case dates back to September 24, when the young women were found in a house in Villa Vatteone, Florencio Varela, after having been missing for five days. They were tortured, murdered, and buried in a pit. The judicial reconstruction indicates that Brenda, Lara, and Morena were lured under false pretenses to a party in Bajo Flores. In reality, it was an ambush that ended with their transfer to Florencio Varela and subsequent execution.

In the context of the case, Magalí Celeste González Guerrero (28), Andrés Maximiliano Parra (18), Iara Daniela Ibarra (19), and Miguel Ángel Villanueva Silva (27) have already been arrested and transferred to the Melchor Romero prison.
Over the weekend, the arrests of Víctor Sotacuro Lázaro in the Bolivian city of Villazón and Ariel Giménez, accused of digging the pit where the victims were buried, were added.
