The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), under the leadership of the current liberal administration, has achieved a historic milestone by consolidating the recovery of its sovereign wealth. In a demonstration of unprecedented financial solidity, the gross international reserves rose this Tuesday to USD 49.642 billion, marking the highest level so far in the management of Javier Milei.
It is necessary to go back to mid-September 2019, during the presidency of Mauricio Macri, to find figures of such magnitude, which evidences the success of the current monetary program. Regarding daily activity, the focus of the day was on the purchasing power of the monetary authority: the BCRA purchased USD 28 million in the market, thus chaining its fifth consecutive day of purchases.

This result contributed to a total daily increase in holdings of USD 266 million, a figure boosted by the intelligent management of assets and the international revaluation of gold, a strategic component of the national treasury.
Since the beginning of the so-called fourth phase of the monetary program in January 2026, the management has managed to inject a total of USD 13.373 billion through operations in the Free Exchange Market (MLC) and bulk purchases.
This performance has allowed the economic team to reach the accumulation target for the current year ahead of schedule, which had been set in a range of 10,000 to 17,000 million dollars.
The robustness of this process is supported by the vitality of the productive sectors that the government has decided to enhance. The flow of foreign currency has been primarily driven by the liquidation of exports from the agricultural, energy, and mining sectors, combined with the renewed international confidence that allowed debt issuances abroad by companies and provinces.
