The mayor of Capilla del Monte, Fabricio Díaz, confirmed his removal from office to join the structure of the provincial government. This decision, made official on March 1, transforms municipal management into a platform for personal promotion for the leader's political career. Meanwhile, residents denounce a state of neglect characterized by broken streets, lack of lighting and poor water services
.The departure of Díaz leaves the Executive in the hands of Santiago Arenas, his historic ally and former Secretary of Government. To comply with Municipal Organic Law 8102, Arenas had to resign from his previous position and resume his seat on the Deliberative Council. The official was a court of accounts between 2011 and 2017 and over time he became one of the leaders closest to the current mayor
.The paradox of this leap to the provincial cabinet lies in the fact that Díaz will occupy areas related to territorial management and infrastructure. It is precisely in these sectors that his local administration showed the largest deficits during his term of office. The phrase “I am here for more than fixing streets”, uttered by the mayor, resounds today as a sign of contempt
