The London team surprised the European champions and was crowned in the first 32-team Club World Cup

Chelsea is the first champion of the inaugural Club World Cup with 32 teams. The English team executed an extraordinary tactical approach against a Paris Saint-Germain that seemed invincible and won 3-0, with a brace from Cole Palmer and a goal from João Pedro.

The London side did not shrink in the face of the reigning Champions League winners and managed to impose its game at the start of the match, making its rival's pressing look slow. With greater offensive possession from Chelsea, in the 7th minute, after a great team play, Cole Palmer threatened with a shot that went wide but seemed to have entered Donnarumma's goal Donnarumma.

Despite the French team's response with some attempts from Doué, the English team took the lead in the 22nd minute thanks to a goal from Palmer himself.

After a brief cooling break, Chelsea extended its lead in the 30th minute, once again thanks to Cole Palmer, who finished with total composure in the center of the Parisian area.

Near the end of the first half, the confusion among the Parisians continued to boost the London side's momentum, which turned the match into a rout with João Pedro's goal in the 43rd minute for the 3-0.

In the second half, with the need to chase the result, Paris began to look more offensive and made Chelsea's goalkeeper, Robert Sánchez, one of the standout players of the match. Meanwhile, Luis Enrique made some changes to bring freshness to the team, but he could not turn the situation around, even suffering two very clear chances from substitute Delap for Enzo Maresca's team.

Near the end of the match, to make matters worse for PSG, in the 85th minute João Neves was sent off for pulling Cuccurella's hair after a minor provocation.

With no time for more, the second half ended with the same score it started with and Chelsea celebrated its second Club World Cup title after its triumph in 2021, becoming the first to win in the new format that promises to return in 2029.
