The legal dispute between María Eugenia "China" Suárez and Benjamín Vicuña added a new chapter this Thursday, after the actor's lawyer, Máximo Petracchi, publicly stated that his client "didn't know" that Magnolia and Amancio, the children he shares with the actress, had started classes in Türkiye.
The statement was made on the program Mujeres argentinas, where journalist Gustavo Méndez revealed that he had received a direct message from China to categorically deny the Chilean actor's version.
The actress reacted angrily and didn't hesitate to give her version of the events: "What do you mean he didn't know? He made video calls every day with the kids and they told Benjamín everything about the new school. Of course we informed him because he was concerned about them missing classes".
El posteo con el que Benjamín Vicuña se habría enterado de la escolarización de sus hijos en Estambul
Everything began when Suárez shared on her social media a series of images showing her three children—Rufina, Magnolia, and Amancio—dressed in the uniforms of the prestigious British International School of Istanbul, where they are now formally enrolled.
The photos circulated quickly and caused surprise, especially because Vicuña's circle implied that the actor was completely unaware of the decision to enroll the children in school in Istanbul. It was then that Méndez, a panelist on América's show, shared the actress's direct reaction on air.
"China confirms that Benjamín Vicuña was aware. She tells me they spoke daily, that the kids told him about school, and that he himself was even concerned because he didn't want them to miss classes," the journalist added.
What does the legal agreement between both parties say?
Amid the media exposure, Mujeres argentinas also recalled how the custody and transfer arrangement for the children is structured. According to their explanation, there is an agreement signed between the lawyers of both parties—Agustín Rodríguez, representing China, and Máximo Petracchi, representing Vicuña—that stipulates that:
The children will spend 30 days with their mother in Türkiye
And 10 days with their father in Argentina
This agreement allowed the children to travel with Suárez to Istanbul. In that context, the actress argues that it was logical to proceed with enrolling them in school, to ensure educational continuity during their extended stay in that country.
"If they're going to spend 30 days there and 10 days here, it's logical for the mother to want to enroll them in school in Türkiye", Méndez emphasized, who also mentioned that the children have already started learning Turkish as part of the adaptation process.
