Benjamín Vicuña was once again at the center of media attention after giving an interview in which he spoke candidly about his family life, the challenges of long-distance parenting, and also, almost unintentionally, about his relationship withEugenia "la China" Suárez.
During a live segment with the program Intrusos (América TV), the Chilean actor denied rumors that he had married the actress, with whom he has two children, and he did so with a phrase that quickly went viral.
During the interview, the journalist asked Vicuña if he had ever walked down the aisle with any of his partners, specifically with la China Suárez, with whom he was in a relationship from 2015 to 2021.
El actor chileno confirmó que nunca se casó con la China Suárez y lo festejó con alivio: 'menos mal'
"No, I've never been married in my life", he replied firmly. However, what followed sparked a wave of reactions.
The reporter added: "Thank goodness", to which Vicuña, unfiltered, repeated the phrase with a laugh: "Thank goodness".
Noticing the tone the conversation had taken, the actor tried to lighten the moment with humor: "No! How thank goodness? You're bad. He looks like a good guy, but he's really bad", he joked, looking at the reporter.
Beyond the comment that many interpreted as a subtle criticism of his ex-partner, Benjamín clarified that he doesn't rule out the idea of marriage in the future.
"It's a beautiful celebration", he said with a smile, hinting that marriage could still be a possibility for him, but in a different context and with someone else.
Benjamín Vicuña spoke about the possibility of his children living in Türkiye
Prior to this lighthearted moment, Vicuña also spoke seriously about the current situation of his youngest children, Amancio and Magnolia, who are currently living in Türkiye with la China Suárez, who moved to that country for work commitments.
"I try to take the drama out of it. To see that what's important lies elsewhere and to find order soon," he explained, acknowledging that distance is not easy to handle, but he tries to adapt.
The actor added that this new dynamic has led him to rethink many things: "I moved to Argentina for my children. This new order of things makes me plan and think a lot."
