China wants to sue the United States for the tariffs imposed by Trump
Beijing seeks to file a complaint at the WTO against the United States due to Trump's statements about imposing tariffs
China has announced its intention to file a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) and take necessary measures to protect its rights and interests, after the United States decided to impose an additional 10% tariff on imported Chinese products.
According to the Ministry of Commerce of China, this unilateral action by the United States seriously violates WTO rules and doesn't effectively address the internal problems of the United States, in addition to undermining regular economic and trade cooperation between both countries.
However, the United States has every right to apply these import duties, which do not violate any WTO regulations, given that the maximum tariff allowed by it is 35%.
For this reason, as long as the tariffs remain below that limit, the claims by China at the World Trade Organization will not be valid.

The Ministry of Commerce argued that the U.S. measure is inappropriate and will not contribute to resolving underlying issues, such as the fentanyl problem in the United States, one of the reasons cited by Washington to justify the tariffs.
China urged the United States to address its own internal problems objectively and rationally, instead of resorting to tariff measuresagainst other countries. The United States has also imposed tariffs on imported products from Mexico and Canada.
It also expressed that imposing tariffs is not an adequate solution for the challenges facing the United States, and emphasized that such measures negatively affect bilateral relations.
However, China is known as one of the main countries practicing dumping, which involves introducing products into a market at a lower price than those existing in the domestic market, which could harm the local economy.

Although Trump's measures do not constitute antidumping measures per se, they could help mitigate the phenomenon for which China has a significant history in international trade.
The Chinese government asked the United States to correct its "wrong actions" and seek to move in the same direction as China. It urged both countries to face their problems directly, engage in frank dialogue, strengthen cooperation, and manage differences based on equality, mutual benefit, and mutual respect.
In this context, China emphasized the importance of resolving trade disputes through diplomatic and legal channels, respecting international norms and promoting a stable cooperation environment.
This development underscores the persistent tension in trade relations between China and the United States, which have been marked by tariff policies and economic disputes in recent years. The outcome of this conflict could have significant implications for global trade and international relations.
