The Chinese automaker BYD arrives in Argentina with three electric cars
Chinese automaker BYD launches three models in Argentina and prepares its own dealership network
BYD, the Asian giant of electric cars, confirmed its official entry into the Argentine market with three models.
The announcement was made at an international event in Rome. The company's executives outlined how the operation will be in the country and which cars they will offer.

Which BYD models are coming to Argentina in 2025?
The first BYD electric cars that will be available in Argentine dealerships are:
- Dolphin Mini
- Dolphin
- Song Pro
The three models target different segments, but with a clear focus on sustainable mobility and competitive prices.

How BYD's business will be in Argentina
Unlike other Chinese brands, BYD will operate without intermediaries. It won't use importers or local representatives.
"Argentina is a big market, we need to be there ourselves," explained Stella Li, the global vice president of the automaker.

Own dealership network
They are already setting up a network of dealerships in different regions of the country. In key cities, there will be more than one branch.
The demand surprised even the executives. They received multiple emails from Argentine entrepreneurs interested in opening BYD stores.
How many cars are arriving and how much they will cost
This year BYD will bring 1,300 units, within the quota of 50,000 electrified cars that can enter without tariffs.

The sale price would remain below 40 million pesos for the most expensive models, according to preliminary estimates.
Possible investment in infrastructure
BYD doesn't rule out investing in an electric charging network in the country. It would do so in partnership with a local strategic partner. The brand seeks to establish itself strongly and compete on equal terms with brands already positioned in the electric sector.
