Cinthia Fernández issued a statement following the complaint of violence against Roberto Castillo
The model spoke out on social media after her current partner was accused of gender-based violence
Cinthia Fernández is experiencing a complex personal moment after the viralization of videos where her current partner, criminal lawyer Roberto Castillo, who represented her in several criminal cases in the past, is seen verbally assaulting his ex-partner. The situation caused a strong stir on social media and put the model in the center of media attention due to her current relationship.
The videos were shared by Daniela Vera Fontana, Castillo's ex-girlfriend and mother of his two daughters. She was also the one who filed the formal complaint for domestic and verbal violence. The images show episodes of abuse that quickly spread across media and digital platforms, generating harsh criticism toward the lawyer and also toward Cinthia for her closeness to him.

Amid the controversy, the former panelist of LAM decided to express herself on her social media and make her stance clear. Through a statement on Instagram, Fernández explained why she avoided speaking publicly about the issue before: "I have been strongly criticized when I spoke, but now I don't do it and they want me to speak. The truth is it doesn't make sense", she wrote.
Cinthia also revealed that a restraining order prevents her from making public statements about the case: "Even though I'm dying to express myself, I can't disobey the judge's will at this moment." Despite the enforced silence, she made it clear that she will speak "when Justice allows" and she is able to comment on the matter.

Before the videos went viral, Fernández had started studying Law, motivated by Castillo, and had expressed her desire to help women without legal representation in gender violence cases. She had even contacted Emily Ceco, a former participant of the reality show Love is Blind, who reported her husband for attempted femicide. However, after learning about Castillo's violent past, Ceco chose to change lawyers to represent her in her case and also spoke out on social media.
Meanwhile, Roberto Castillo himself requested an exceptional judicial measure to be able to give television interviews on two channels and provide his version of the events involving him.
