The Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (in English, ICE) of President Donald Trump is focusing on detaining undocumented immigrants who have pending criminal charges or convictions in the United States, in addition to the crime of being illegally on U.S. soil.
Tricia McLaughlin, spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security, said last month that federal forces had arrested more than 600,000 illegal immigrants, 70% of whom had been charged with or convicted of a crime in the United States.
McLaughlin emphasized that this statistic refers to charges or convictions only in the United States, not in other countries. That is, the percentage of criminals who are apprehended by ICE and DHS of the Trump administration is probably even higher.

Doing a favor for the U.S.
"DHS is targeting the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens, including murderers, rapists, gang members, pedophiles, and terrorists", McLaughlin stated in a statement released in November. "[Seventy percent] of the illegal aliens arrested by ICE across the country have criminal convictions or pending criminal charges only in the U.S."
"This statistic doesn't take into account those wanted for violent crimes in their home country or another country, INTERPOL notices, human rights abusers, gang members, terrorists, etc.", the official confirmed. "The list goes on."
Last week, an ICE agent went viral for addressing leftist protesters and members of the press while federal forces were on duty. In this particular case, the agent stated that the authorities were detaining an undocumented child sex abuser, making those who were protesting look ridiculous.

"We are here to arrest a child sex offender, and you are here honking your horn", the agent says in the now-viral video. "That vehicle has been honking its horn and obstructing our investigation while we are trying to arrest a child sex offender. That is who you are protecting."
