Colapinto shared his thoughts on the Austrian circuit, his possible last race as a starter
The Argentine Alpine driver previewed the upcoming race at the Red Bull Ring, a track he knows well and where he has already achieved great results in lower categories
The Red Bull Ring in Austria, one of the most traditional circuits on the calendar, will be the next stop for Formula 1 and the stage where Franco Colapinto could have his last race as a starter, since the 5-race period he was given after replacing Jack Doohan is coming to an end. Aside from this, the track, which has been part of F1 history since 1970 and has been modernized over the years, is one of the Argentine driver's favorites.
This week, Alpine chose Colapinto to do a virtual lap in the simulator and explain the circuit's secrets to the fans. "It's a really short circuit, where it's very important to nail the fast lap. It has few corners, but it's really exciting to race here," Franco commented, anticipating the technical demands of the GP.
His enthusiasm was no coincidence: "It has high-speed corners and I love them. That definitely makes it one of my favorite circuits," he revealed, making clear his affinity for the Red Bull Ring before detailing a fast lap around the track.

His record at the Red Bull Ring
Colapinto arrives at the Austrian Grand Prix with good memories. In his only appearance there in Formula 2, he achieved a second place, while in Formula 3 he added a fourth and a sixth place. His strong knowledge of the circuit, combined with his confidence, make him one of the attractions for next weekend.

However, the current context is not entirely favorable: Alpine is struggling due to a lack of engine power, a factor that becomes especially important on a circuit with long straights like the Red Bull Ring. Even so, Colapinto is not losing motivation and will look to keep progressing within the grid.
